Seminars and Workshops are offered at various locations in the Greater Prescott/Quad Cities area (see events page). In addition, I can come to you at your business, club, school, church or in-home sessions can be done by arrangement.   Coming soon, will be on-line versions of these offerings.

Seminars

Introduction to Gut Health

Usually One 1-hr. Class

Rates: $10 per person, may vary slightly by location

Explore the alimentary system (aka, your gut) by learning about what occurs along the pathway your food takes as you eat and digest, learn about your microbiome and how probiotics help to keep your gut, and your health, at it’s best. Find out how fermented foods help edify your gut health and well-being.

Introduction to Fermentation

Usually One 1-hr. Class

Rates: $10 per person, may vary slightly by location

Food preservation and how it can contribute to health and wellbeing: Learn about the basics of the fermentation process, how microbes perform transformations to preserve produce, and release nutrients that are beneficial to your health, and how to make and incorporate fermented foods into a healthy diet.

Workshops

Going with Your Gut

Three 2-hr. Sessions

Rates: $150 per person, may vary slightly by location

This foundational workshop is a series of three 2-hour sessions.  In the first hour an in-depth presentation of the day’s topic on gut health and/or fermentation, including aspect of physiology, metabolism, historical perspectives, causes of ailments of the gut and how to prevent them, the contribution of fermented foods and how they benefit our health and how diet impacts our microbiome.  During the second hour there will be a hands-on demonstration of the preparation of fermented foods/beverages, you may participate if desired and starters for some ferments will be provided.

Session 1:  Probiotics, and how to make Kombucha

Session 2:  Your Microbiome, and how to make Kimchi or Sauerkraut

Session 3:  Fermentation, and how to make Sourdough bread.

Rates:  $150 per person for the three sessions, materials (notebooks, information, recipes) and some starters will be provided.  (Rates may vary slightly by location).
